i have an 86 300e with just over 100,000 miles. i purchased this car as
a vehicle to move my dog around, for just over $5,000. in 1999. i now
have over $40,000. invested in a full but ongoing restoration of this car.
i should have spent this money on Physchiatric counselling, but it is too late
now, i will keep this car here in Mexico where i now live, until i die.
i will likely ask to be buried in the car, because i am already.
anyways, my problem this week is the water pump. i am a little mechanicaly inclined after a few drinks, and compared to the wrenches here, i am considered a master MB mechanic. if you have a tool box here, you are
considered an expert. if there are more than 3 tools in the box, you are con-
sidered to be a "wealthy expert", worthy of upmost respect.
that does not mean they won't steal your tools if you turn your back for more than a few seconds.
anyways, on a serious note, is there anyone out there who could send me by e-mail the instructions to do this R and R. i understand the basics, but would
really appreciate the step by steps, as i know this would help immensely.
if the car runs again after i install the new pump, they might even elect me
mayor, or at least the Mayan Mechanic God of Tulum, where i currently live.
i really appreciate your help, i really do love this old car. they think it is a new model here, and i don't want to disappoint them.
