Life expectancy of a Mercedes 600

I'm thinking about buying a restored Mercedes 600, a beautiful car. I'd be driving it about 10k miles a year, evenly split between city and highway miles. Assuming of course I attend to its regular maintenance needs, does this level of demand present a problem for a complicated car like this? The one I want to buy has only 50k miles on it. Thanks.

Post Yes but........

If you are looking at a completely restored 600 you must have money and have done some research on your to your question......

I do know a couple of people that own 600's and love them BUT you must remember that most of the power accessories work on hydraulics so even a small leak is a real problem. The air suspension can give you fits and must be properly maintained.

Do you have a mechanic that can or will work on it? Most mechanics either can't or won't work on a 600. They're just too complicated and too rare to make it worth learning, plus you have to have an extended lift.

Are you going to get hysterical with every scratch? If so pass on it unless your going to leave it in the garage at all times.

Where will you park it? The 600 is an extended limo car that will require an extra long space in the garage and it is not a car that can be left outside. Also not a car that can be driven to the market unless you have a chauffer to stay with it.

Upkeep will be expensive but again, if you can afford to buy one you probably have the money.
