W163 aux electric pump shorted & melted the wire connector... need to locate a connec

My 99 ml320 aux electric water pump shorted out and melted the connector.
there is no part number on the connector...does this mean that i woulds need to get a new wire harness just to replace this one connector...can i get the connector any where else..i can splice wires to make it easy..i rather not run a new wire harness or have to buy one....and ideas..before i just hard wired it...
please advise

Is that inside the tank connector? I had one of those on ML55. Even the truck was long time after warranty period - MBUSA after some nagging paid for new fuel pump. This is the only way MB sells it.

Kajtek, read his question again. Carefully. Once you've done that, tell how you possibly got anything having anything to do with fuel out of it. Must be Polish logic again.

To the OP, which side of the connector did it melt? Can you post a pic?

You are right. I speed-read concluding this is related to the problem I did have.
To avoid confusion, ML is having mechanical water pump that has no electric connector on it. I guess OP talks about coolant recirculating pump. Those to my knowledge come as single piece and not come cheap. Some members were able to make new brushes for them as that is what usually go.
Electric connector should be easier to manufacture than bushes?

Both melted... I got a new pump from auto haus..... Locating a new connector seems more difficult with out buying a whole wire harness ....

I would suggest finding a connector at a junkyard and then splicing it in. Better than hard-wiring it.
