Talking Yeibiche got her dream machine

I have never been a car buff. Sure, I like a nice car but I've always said; I don't really care what my car is as long as it gets good mileage and is reliable. BUT I've also always said, if I'm going to get excited about a car it's going to be a black on black mercedes sedan...a car I knew I would never, ever, be able to afford. Well, about 6 months ago this 380 SL Roadster kept being parked on the road to my house, with a for sale sign. Granted, it's a two seater convertible and not a sedan, but that 1984 body is an eye catcher. I finally stopped one day and couldn't believe the price tag. I bought it the next day. Mechanically, the car seems to be fine although if the motor doesn't catch on the first turn of the key, it can take a good long crank to get her going. Hints on that one? I've tuned it and brought it in for a general going over...something about a $5000 gas tank/pump job. umm...no. At least not yet, the problem is not so great that I want to vomit up that kind of cash for a maybe. Other than that, the car needs dash restoration and I have yet to find an article on that. Yes on the instrument cluster, but no on the particulars of entire dash removal. The car looks beautiful even without doing the intended work. I am excited and look forward to picking y'alls brains.
