That is not a bad car at all (same engine I have) but $350/month for insurance is almost a deal breaker. To minimize the maintenance costs you need to do as much as you can yourself and that's what this forum is all about.

A 2005 C-Class is known as a W203 so scroll down from this general forum, look for the sedans section, then for the W203 forum. The guys hanging out there will know a lot about your car and how to help you.

who would think a 2005 c320 is a shitty car???? -_-

try to get put under your parents insurance or just stay on liability.
do your research,
learn how to check fluids,
do oil changes with quality oil/filter,
obviously put premium in the car,
look up your maintenance interval and if your past due on something replace it don't just hope the smuck before you did. treat your car well and it'll treat your well.

performing basic maintenanceis extremely easy with a smalls amount of tools,$$, and patience.

Steve,

I would have killed to have a late model Mercedes. The car is great.

Like the guy in post No.5 said. Get on your parents insurance. Learn to do the simple DIY's. I was once your age with the same knowledge, and now I'm repairing my own engines and transmissions because I care to do it.

Stay in school if you have problems Benzworld forums are loaded with a wealth of information, and the users here are great here too.

Keep the car,

Best of luck,

Martin

Nice to be given a car. $350 per month is ouch ! But how much for your dream car monthly payment plus perhaps same insurance cost? I never thought I'd want a Benz until I drove one, it is a hobby for me to own and enjoy. My 89, 900T Saab is for kickin a bit........
