Post Display defective error message on W210 1996

Recently when it got hot here in Europe i noticed my engine temperature going up to 120 degrees celsius! (248ºF!!!!) when in idle or driving up the hill. So i started in normal order by changing the viscus. When nothing happened i continued by changing the thermostat, temperature sensor, water pump, than continued with the instrument cluster, the radiator, than measuring the presence of CO2 in the water (came out negative) and finally lost all the ideas.
Ok, than i said, let`s open the engine and changed the head seal.
And finally after spending almost 1.500 USD the problem dissapeared.
But than an error message appeared saying: "DISPLAY DEFECTIVE" or on european cars like mine "anzeige defekt" and showing the radiator icon.
First i thought it was the expansion tank sensor and changed that too but the problem persisted. And finally, changed the washer level sensor for USD 40 and fixed the problem. I saw the comments saying that you should recode the instrument cluster but the MB dealer said w210 1996 belongs to older generation MB thad do not need to recode a cluster.
The sensors are connected parallel and may swap the error messages.
Hope this helped.

PS if your engine ever goes to maximum change the head seal right away instead of trying other
