2000 ML320 AC

I need to recharge my AC on a 2000 ML320, which port do I use and where is it> is it the one by the battery and firewall? Thanks

You can get a recharge kit with a gauge at most part stores. The connector will only fit on the low pressure port which is the one you want.

For charging use low pressure port what is on thick piping what is where you described.
High pressure port (small pipes) on ML from what I remember is on front of condenser behind front grille.

What is the wire that attaches to the middle of the battery for?

If it is connected to a plastic block that goes under the metal strap it is just a plastic line to keep the block from getting lost.
