Wow,,,, you will love this trip....
I did this in 2010 and was going to be there for 10 days,,,,,
6 months and 6000 miles latter I came home with a whole new attitude.
Here are some inside tips...
1.) have the european trailer hitch factory installed, when you get there go to an rv dealer and buy a used rv for a few hundred dollars, yes hundreds.
2.) call your boss(s) and tell them you have had a problem and must stay in europe until it is resolved ( worked for me ).
3.) do the mb museum tour in stutgart ( everything at mb is free for visiting usa owners ).
4.) go to badenbaden!!!!!!!! then on up into the black forest, look for quaint lodges for 3 times the service for a third the price.
5.) go on to mb clubs DE and post that you are comming and would like to meet other german, french, italian, netherland, denmark mb owners at ' meet-ups'.
6.) go to caravan parks and MIX and MINGLE, they love american campers and will direct you to the real must see's.
7.) be ready to ride bicycles.
8.) make sure you get insurance and a eu sticker before you turn the key, they will get you, and in germany you have to pay the cop on the spot in cash!!!!!!
this will give the trip of a lifetime and give you sooooo much more than any 'tour' ever could.
Hope this helps, you will love this trip
