Newbie Hello - 44 Year Wait!

In 1968, I was preparing to leave Bamberg Germany after 3 years running tanks in the Army. Our 65 Mustang had been a fun car to drive in Europe, but with our first son born in Nurnberg and Judy pregnant with our first daughter, we decided we needed a family car to bring home. The shopping resulted in a final choice between a Mercedes 230-S, new for $3700, or a VW Squareback for $2300. An Army Captain didn't make much in those days and enroute to Viet Nam with an uncertain future led us to choose the VW.

44 years later( 2 weeks ago ) we acquired a Certified Pre-owned 2008 E 350 4Matic. Woohoo! We live in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and have an average snowfall in our town of 160". I drive an F-150 but the family car for years has been a Lincoln. Now I can't wait for next winter to get here to drive my "real car". I just love driving my Mercedes.
