Exclamation 2000 E320 4Matic Wagon

Hello,
I am new to BenzWorld.org and am looking for a little bit of advice. I own a 2000 E320 4matic Wgn that I picked up late last year. Great car for my family and my wife loves it. However, I needed to do some work to it recently and am having a heck of a time. I needed to replace the rear rotors and while that is no real chore the e-brake hold down springs let go while taking the old rotors off. I got new rotors, e-brake shoes, and hardware kit. The problem is that even though the new shoes seem to match up with the old ones they will not adjust down far enough to allow the rotor to slip over them. The adjuster and e-brake cam are both working as designed. Any thoughts?
