I recently purchased a rod bender unknowingly. I did not do my research. I just seen a W126 diesel and went for it. Everything seemed to be fine when I bought the car except for a slight clacking noise at idle. This is a grease car BTW. Also why I was blinded by the light. So after I repaired some fuel leaks and replaced belt tensioner spring and shock, I was on a short road trip with my family when the key way between the crankshaft and the harmonic balancer broke. The engine is now in pieces and I am waiting for a used crankshaft and harmonic balancer too arrive from a Georgia salvage yard. Any input....? Oh yeah and the were 4 bolts missing from the windage tray. Still have yet to dig through the remaining oil in the own to see if they are on the bottom. Any idea what may have caused the crankshaft to break?
