Post I'm slightly older than my car

I am the new owner of a 1981 Mercedes W123 class 230 CE. It was brought over from Germany about 16 years ago and fully restored. The previous owner appears to have gathered too many cars to keep this one around.

I was born in 1978 and love having a car that reminds of the past while still staying classy in the future. This is a daily driver to the hospital where I work but the car will be parked in the garage and wintered. It is in excellent condition for its age.

There are some cosmetic concerns - a crack in the dash, rear leather starting to tighten/pull at the seams, antenna not telescoping, and passenger side mirror not moving in - but this will give me something to work on and help me connect with the car.

I'm also a singer/songwriter and have written and recorded an original song "Running on Empty" (not the Jackson Brown classic). I will be filming the music video in the next 2 months using my 230 CE so perhaps I will post a link to it on my profile once it's done.

I look forward to learning from all the collective experience from the members. Thanks for having me aboard.
