my name is Simon and I am usually a resident of Melbourne Australia. My previous Benzes have been a 1969 280SL, 1983 380SL, and 1989 260E sedan. My father has owned W123 and W124 230 E sedans, while my mother still owns the 190E she purchased new in 1985, which has a grand total of 52,000km on the clock and looks in new showroom condition still.
My present drive is Porsche 928S4 which I have owned for 15 years. So, why am I here? Because I am currently living in Cebu City, Philippines where I own a 1994? 1993? 1992? E320? 300E? sedan. This is the land of buyer beware. I was sold a 1994 E320 but find the vin code tells me the body is 1993 and the engine, a 103 straight six, claims to be 1992! What the heck do I have here?
Well, I am committed ( or should have been to have bought this) and need to make the most of things, so I am looking forward to some sound and useful advice from members of this club. I am already well advanced with restoring the car to what it was intended to be, removing fake AMG wheels and tyres, replacing shock absorbers that were ruined by lowering the car using fencing wire on the springs, replaced the catylitic convertor which had been gutted to sound better!, new twin Bosch fuel pumps to replace the single Mazda unit( did I mention how things are repaired here in the Philippines?).
The engine is actually strong , smooth, and powerfull but so many dodgy repairs need attention. It will be nice to finally be able to trust this vehicle. At present it seems to like to crush me against the steering wheel with the seat moving magically, but Im sure we will eventually become friends!
