Newbie wants to buy a diesel G wagon or a Unicorn - whichever I can find first...

Just kidding about the Unicorn but it seems it might be easier than buying a G-wagon. I'm here to learn about G-wagons, specifically diesel models that can be converted or already have been to run on Biodiesel/WVO.

Research areas of particular interest are G's for sale, import issues and which engines are best for my purposes. I want a daily driver that is also used for roadtrips. Not looking for high speeds just s good truck to have for the rest of my life. As far as I'm concerned they can bury me in the one I eventually buy. I have been pining for a G for almost 10 years...
