What can you do if transmission warning light on your car

There is a warning light on, but I don't know what does it mean. My friend said it looks like a trannsmission lighting up. And he told me that there will be a code why the light is on but I can't read it with a regular scan tool, I need to have them read at a repair shop that has a special trans code reader, such as the autosnap gd860. I search it on the google, it is really expensive.

That might be a check engine light. Try to read codes with a regular scan tool.

As far as I know transmission codes will show on OBD II scanner, just will not reset unless you have specific MB scanner.
For checking the codes in US for free you can go to AAMCO or some Autoznes do that as well. Knowing the car MY and your location would help us help you.

If You Don’t Stop Driving...

If you keep driving an engine that is overheating, it can cause serious damage. The engine may start to knock (caused by detonation), which in turn can cause piston, ring and head gasket damage. As the internal parts of the engine expand from the excessive heat, clearances may be reduced to the point where metal-to-metal contact occurs. Valve stems may gall and stick, and the pistons and camshaft might scuff or seize

I wonder if any car can overheat when it's driven in North or South Pole.
