Hmmm, as someone with no interest or affiliation to either of these folks, I know for a fact that many stereo shops use the Audi/VW adapter to fit a new head unit into a MB. There is no MB adapter that I know of, and this is the common and widely known fix, so if anything, this company is ignorant of that fact. Based on that lack of knowledge alone I'd say you're better off doing business elsewhere. Just laying out the facts, I had this done to my W202 a few years back at The Sound Choice in Portland. I'm amazed any shop would be unaware of this who knows these cars.
Also, why would we ban "Black Brad Pitt?" That has to be the coolest/funniest user name I've seen on here in a while.
Finally, and this is just my opinion as a business owner myself, but no business should publicly defame a customer, what was their loss, zero since the video costs nothing? This whole thread is stupid I have to say, but more so embarrassing that any business would look so immature in the largest MB forum on the planet, where this will live on forever and likely be among the top results in future Google searches. Also, they said he was trying to scam then then showed no evidence of this whatsoever, just an interpretation of his statement which is in no way incriminating. Does this company have a legal adviser? If not get one because you just opened the door to a libel lawsuit not to mention the fact that the OP can contact the State Attorney General's office for failure to provide a product that he paid for but was not delivered, especially since it is made clear for all to see it was intentional, an inadvertent admission of guilt in a public forum. In business you don't choose your customers but you damned well better appreciate them, especially in this economy. To be clear, I am not making and judgment if the OP actually had a friend buy this for him or not, maybe he is trying to rip you off, I have no idea, but the point is this is the wrong way to deal with a customer.
I feel embarrassed for even having responded to this.
