Car Shipping Companies

Hi,

I need to ship one of my E320's from Seattle to Michigan and am looking for a reputable car carrier - anyone have any advice for a high quality, reasonable shipper?

Many thanks,
Gavin

I've just had my SL shipped from East Coast to California by Cascade Vehicle Shipping. They're the only broker who could arrange a carrier in the time schedule that I asked for. The car actually arrived ahead of promised time, and everything in the trunk, odometer checked out, etc. Their price is competitive, enough for me to tell the broker to give $50 extra to the driver.

Don't forget to tip the driver(s). The moment the truck arrived with your car on it, you see the stress on the driver(s)' face(s) after thousands of miles of driving, you'll have the urge to empty your wallet.

Brokers are always hit or miss as you don't know who is going to transport it.
If you are not in hurry -open the listing on uship.com. Opening is free and this way you can get excellent deal on owner -operator coming back empty on the route.
Check the feedback and authority carefully.

I had 2009 Benz transported from Virginia to Washington. Unfortunately I can't remember what the final cost was as it was long tome ago. This was my first and the only time using such a service, and I can say that I all in all it was quite easy and I didn't have any issues with the transportation. If you want you can find more details to see how it all works.

I just had one delivered the day after thanksgiving. I believe it was $700 or $800 from Nebraska to Michigan, door to door. I used to use DAS but the door to door was more expensive, much more expensive. Luckily I have been fortunate with a couple of brokers- the one mentioned in my post above and Road Warriors in Nebraska. In all honesty, the latter was arranged by the dealership I bought the car from but we split the cost as part of the negotiations on the car I received......having a car delivered to your door is nice, very nice

I'd probably use an enclosed carrier if you have any concerns about damage (most if not all companies will offer this). It costs a little more, but it's worth it in my opinion. My trip wasn't quite as far as yours, but I used a1 auto transport Inc. and was happy with them. Fair price, good communication, and most importantly, they know what they're doing. Always a good idea to call around and check prices, but I'd use them again and recommend them to others.
