how often do you replace the key fob battery?

just bought 2010 E350... have had to changed the battery 3 times in under 60 days. Might have changed once in the 2003 that I traded in. twice taken to dealer without success. Any thoughts?

NEVER.
Our original ML320 sold being 13 years old with factory batteries in remotes.
We do own E300 for about 6 years and never replaced the batteries in remotes.

3 times in 60 days is atrocious, there is something wrong with that key. Take it back to the dealer and use your new car warranty. Assuming you have a spare key, how is that behaving?

Does your car have keyless go? Get the dealer to check the build date of your key. I remember reading a bulletin about defective keys that drain the battery. I can't remember but I think it only applied to cars with keyless go though, either way get the dealer to check it out.

Is that a KG car? Makes a big difference, specifically if you keep keys close to the car.

OK. I'm a year late but my 2012 E350 has the same issue. I had to replace both FOB batteries after only one year of service. I asked the local dealer service department but he acted like I was the only person who ever had this problems.

I've had FOB's for years on other makes (Ford, Dodge) and they last five or six years. Someone mentioned the keyless GO system but the dealer said nada. Any ideas where I could POINT the dealer to the solution? A battery life of 13 months cannot be normal.

If you have to point the dealer to do the job right, where do we go next?
13 months battery life makes me wonder. Would that be a constant draw - it would not last that long.
Are you sure you are not pressing the remote in your pocket?
I activated my door with the key in my pocket several times, not to mention my cellphone is turning itself on and is dialing numbers..
