Oil viscosity

I have a 1996 s320 6 cyl. What is the correct oil vis. With synthetic oil? Any suggestions for oil brands?

I use AMSOIL and it has never failed me. They recommend 7.4 quarts of 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil for your car.
