possible cps problem

Good evening guys,
This is my first merc and I love it, however I have a problem I've been doing some research and think it's the crank position sensor basically I will be driving along and the engine will just die. After 10 - 20 mins it will restart fine no amount of cranking during this time period will help except it sounds like it's cranking a bit faster than it should be - as I said I love the car but it's annoying as sometimes it does it within 5 miles of starting other times it's 20 miles once it's cooled down and I wait a bit it fires up again on the first turn of the key - the cars a 98 w210 with a 2.4 v6 and 74000 miles, thanks in advance

Richard

CPS. Change it ASAP or else some day, you stall in the middle of the road.

Agreed. This was exactly what happened to me, in the street. I had to call MB roadside assistance and it took 2 hours.

Your symptoms are similar to mine.
