MERCEDES only last 18 years and 190,000 miles

I just bought another S350D (my 5th) cause I love the ride and the style. I'm a big guy and I like a big car. This is one of the best ones I have ever seen, everything works and it's close to 'mint', Black on black leather, 1 owner, belonged to oil company owners wife. 200+ pages of receipts all from MBZ dealer, I couldn't resist. Well, I know the problems with the engines and I've prepared for that by building up another engine... but reverse went out in the trans! so, I put in another trans that I had around but I'd like to try and fix the reverse issue on the original one.
Anyone here know these transmissions really well and has successfully repaired one with this issue? PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I've rebuilt a few of these engines but I have ZERO experience rebuilding/repairing automatic transmissions. I have read some forums here where it's been said that a reverse gear piston or reverse gear clutch plates might be the problem???
Any special tools needed?
Good source for parts?

You might want to have a chat with the OP of this thread. He definitely seems willing to help others with what he's learned. Good luck.
