Oneoldbenz is new kid on the block

I recently acquired a 1987 300SDL from another old guy way back in the mountains of KY. The last MB I drove was a 1959 Diesel sedan of some type that I don't remember. It got 40 MPG but back then nobody cared. ( I now have a chevy truck with 650000 miles that gets 7 MPG.) In the 3K miles I have driven the 300SDL I get 25 MPG. I have put on new brakes and tires and fixed the odometer (it reads 237000). There is no rust on this car. Bad news is coolant is disappearing and there is coolant in the oil (I had an analysis done.) I have already heard about the head and gasket problems and I am looking forward to pulling the head on this Diesel. The rest of this car is in excellent shape and it drives like a Mercedes Benz which makes it worth fixing. I like old cars. I also have a 1967 MGB. This is not really a car, but it is still fun.
