My tyres are wearing off.

Hello, I have a 2002 Mercedes benz ML320. The thread line of two of my tyres (front right and back left) are always wearing off while nothing happens to the other two. Could this be as a result of the fact that my tyres are not properly aligned? A local mechanic said it is as result of faulty suspension but I am in doubt about this. Can someone help with answer please.
