Oil leakage is KILLING my wallet, fines
Hi guys, I'm a new subscriber here (but I've been a long time reader/follower of this forum). I own a 1983 240D that is giving me a few problems... I luv the car & I know that it can take a beating; but I have to get used to a Diesel car. Anyway, right now it leaks oil right around where the oil pan & the bottom of the motor meets. Whoever worked on the car before I got it, did a real $h*++y job on the gasket. They used silicon but it looks like a 1st grader did it with black glue & paste LOL.
When I 1st got the car @ 146k, it leaked regularly & now its at 150K and its more apparent. I maintain a decent oil level by putting new oil in it often... Needless to say, this leak has destroyed me driveway. Im gonna replace the crappy silicone with an new oil pan gasket (as soon as NAPA gets the part in). Now I need someone to give some names OR a few links to some good cleaner that will get the oil stains up. Everyone says get Kitty litter But it will be useless on this job (the oil is already soaked in & dry). The H.O.A in my subdivision has threatened to fine me if I dont get this taken care of soon.
I brought in a company to pressure wash my driveway. They gave me an estimate & refused to only treat the stained area. They want to do the entire driveway, using my water, plus they want me to pay for the cleaning chemicals, and that's in addition to charging me $75. I dont want to pay $75 + supplies fees etc. for something I could pay $20 for at Lowes or Home Depot and DIY. Thanks guys all help is appreciated.
