Car in the shop for the past MONTH! advice?
Long story, but I'll try and keep it brief....I'm looking for advice on what my possible options are and if I should contact MB USA.
I've got a 2007 ML350...50,000 miles. I took it in 4 weeks ago tomorrow because it was making a groaning noise when reversing that sounded like it was from the front end. The mechanic was stumped so called corporate to get an engineer out to help diagnose. They figured it was the torque converter..so pulled the tranny and replaced it. That didn't work, so they replaced the tranny valve body...which made the noise 10 times worse. that was last week. I went in and the mechanic apologized and said he and he engineer still had no idea what the problem is and at this point had no game plan other than just randomly swapping out parts. Not exactly confidence inspiring.
So far in the past yr this thing has been in for a total of over 1 1/2 months.
New cam magnets, a/c blower motor, tranny valve body plate, new control arms on all 4 wheels, peeling trim replaced, new engine mounts, alarm system going off randomly, rear gate repaired 4 times now.....and now this.
What are my options...I'm not happy about having a car that's had that many parts taken on and off to fix a major problem nobody can figure out.
Does MB ever get to a point of just offering a replacement vehicle or credit toward a new vehicle?
