clk430cab wind deflector fitting

help i have just purchased a genuine 208 model wind deflector. There is no instructions but looks obvious that it drops into the 2 slots provided.
Have taken care to make pull out pulls towards backseats. The left side from the back slots straight in but the other side goes in but wont lock down and stays proud of the car by 10mm or so. No pushing or lock plate klikin seems to work any ideas. Or is it just faulty. The klik slider shaft locks seem to be working it just will not sit down. Paul
