General dashboard lighting color

Hi all, 2011 E550 Convertible. My dash gauges and GPS light up in white at night. However, the controls on the steering wheel and manual controls below the GPS screen all light up in a soft reddish color.

Can the dashboard gauges (and the GPS white lettering) be changed to match that reddish tint color? It's very soft on the eyes and looks cool.

I know I can dim the dash, but I want the colors to match that soft red. Is this even possible to do? Thx!

One suspects it's this way to keep from overwhelming you with interior light.

Some choices are best not left to customers but rather to experts.

If they put a pea under your mattress, you could feel it, right?

There are arguments for both red and low level white gauge lighting. The red lighting is supposed to help preserve your night vision. The white gauges, on the other hand, are supposed to be easier to read in the dark.

On older cars it was very easy to change out the gauge color by changing out the bulbs or covering them with a red filter. I doubt the new E-Class will be that simple, since it probably uses LEDs instead of replaceable bulbs. You could try applying a red filter over it, but this might be hard to read (or just plain annoying) during the day.
