I`m a new member to the forum from the east coast of the UK.
I have an S600 W220 registered in 2000 (I think the 220 ran from 2001 in the USA, but from 2000 in Europe) which I bought earlier this year.
I was pretty much had by the dealer that sold me the car, but I couldnt take it back because I live half the country away from where I bought it, I am still considering taking him to court.
The problems I have had, and cured include a coil pack the MAF all 24 plugs a couple of tyres that were dangerous when looked at on a ramp and several other smaller items.
The car is not on the road at the moment because it would not start (Starter motor relay) and I have the V-Belt and an o2 sensor to replace, and its too cold at the moment to be doing them, so I am driving a Lexus marshmallow at the moment
while the weather gets better.
It also does strange things with the suspension, especially after the battery (new) has been disconnected, but these tend to work themselves out after a day or two.
So basically its a pretty normal 00 S600!
But I love it.
On the days that its not misfiring or jumping around on the road, it is by far the best car I have ever driven, I hate driving anything else.
I trained many years ago as a motor engineer, so I pretty much know which way to turn a spanner, and so I will only take any of my cars to a shop if I really have to. I quit the motor trade and worked nightclubs for 25 years ending up building sound systems and lighting rigs for live venues until bad health forced me to retire.
I am a down to earth straight talking SOB so dont take anything I say personally, if I can help someone I will help them.
