Post Guys i need your advice for buying a E350 w212 (I Need help)

Hi guys
I really want to buy this Merc E350 w212, but its too expensive for my pocket at the moment. However, I have a friend who wants to sell this car to me for $10,000 (10K) but there is a catch, it has had water damage and now most of the electronics don't work but the car starts and goes. The interior leathers are fine. I've also checked under the car and under the interior mats for dampness and rust and it all seems fine to me. However, there are some things like the seats and windows don't work and also the heating and a/c etc.. don't work. But what i was thinking was if I buy the car and spend 20k in repairs to fix the faults properly with the help of Mercedes mechanics and dealers so that in the end i might have a decent car to drive.

What do u guys think? reply ASAP

So would it be worth trying to overhaul the electronics and fix them to factory standards. Because iv seen them sell for 130k. I live in Australia by the way.

This car if it was fixed wouldn't be sold to a new buyer but kept for my son or me to drive.

For someone like me who is a tech this would be a buy and pull all the modules and do a clean up job but for an novice with no test equipment and no experience of the costs/electronic parts involved it would be a beware job.
