Small black piece missing from under of car...should I be worried?

Hi all,
I was detailing my clk350 today when I noticed that on the very bottom of my car, below the left door like where the under carriage starts, there is a long strip of black plastic that runs from front to back (not the door, like the underbelly of the car). . Anyways, a small piece is missing, I guess I hit something that caused it to break off. I'm sorry if I'm doing a terrible job at explaining but I attached a picture. I think my car is fine, I don't think that I desperately need that piece haha, but I just wanted to check and make sure. So basically this picture is me laying on the ground, directly underneath the left door, on the very bottom of the car. Do you think I need to get it fixed or is it something I can just leave? Thanks! Sorry for the long post.

EDIT: the picture is upside down, but yeah, you get the point! the obvious missing chunk is what I'm talking about

Is this the hard plastic piece where you put the jack to raise the car?

Look's like moulding to me, the hard rubber kind. I don't think it will materially effect how the car handles, just looks nasty.
