New to the forum

Hi, i'm Zach, i drive a 1987 300TD w124, it's been beaten up pretty bad. People seem to just track to it in parking lots and what not, the rear quarter panels have both been replaced, there's currently a sizeable dent in the rear passenger side quarter panel again, also many other dents and dinks throughout.

The car has been in my family forever, my great uncle bought it, i think new, then passed it on to my uncle, who passed it on to my dad, who then let my brother and now me drive it. It's got around 250,000 miles on the odometer, which broke 6-8 years ago, i think it's probably somewhere between 350-400,000 miles now, i use it as a daily driver around town and stuff.

Long-time Mercedes driver

Hello everybody!

I'm new to this forum, but certainly not new to Mercedes! Took my California drivers license test in 1976 in my parents 1971 Mercedes 220. After I totalled that car (long story), my folks bought a 1973 280. They traded that in on a 1986 300E. Each car I got to drive.

I bought myself a 1978 350SE (grey market), and my wife owned a 1976 450SEL when I met her.
Amazing cars! Every one an engineering marvel.

Today, I own a 2000 ML430. Not quite the same level of quality as my previous cars, but solid as a rock!

Despite its reputation, I find Mercedes to be one of the easiest cars to work on! I do as much of my own work as time, and tools, allow. Getting information on how to do things isn't always easy though. Which is one reason why I'm here.

Hello

I am currently redoing my 1990 500 SL which I picked up. It is in pretty bad shape. Won't start; so I don't know what condition the engine is in. Car has 134,000 miles on OD. Anti-thief issues; As a project car, this is my first Mercedes. Tried to sign up for ecpOnline (MB electronic parts catalog) but having trouble getting it to work. If anyone knows how to do this it would be appreciated.
