Post I need help figuring out which car to get!

Hey Ive been looking at some used Mercedes and I would like some opinions and specs. The five cars i am looking to buy are an 04 cl55 amg , 07 and 08 e63 amg , and 09 c63 amg . Now I was wondering which one of these would be the best choice and why, and any other years i should check out? Also could these cars compete with newer muscle cars such as the mustang 5.0 or camaro ss? Is it possible to add anything to make any of these cars faster than them if they cant? If there are any other suggestions on other cars just post away because i could use all the help i could get!

im pretty sure all those AMG's are a lot faster than a new ss or 5.0. But take it seriously when i say you need DEEP pockets to own an AMG. They're pretty much twice as expensive maintenance wise than your normally chevy or whatever. I'd vote to buy the 2009 c63. its the newest and imo the c class amgs have always been the best.

AMG's also eat a lot of gas! I mean a lot, ML63, would be between 9-10 MPG in the City!

Hmmm, I only saw 4 cars listed, not 5, but they are all very different indeed. I'd make a determination based on what you will actually use, a CL, E or C all have some overlapping uses but are pretty unique from one another in just about every way imaginable. Drive a few standard versions (they are easier to find) and then buy the AMG version of the car you like the most. I'd personally take the E but that's because CL maintenance costs scare the $hit outta me and an AMG version will only be more greedy. The C is a great car, but the E carries more people so you can hear your family screaming as you toss the back end out on narrow country roads on your way to Grandma's Sunday dinner.

The CL also has a lot more complicated systems (e.g. ABC), which can be phenomenally expensive even on the non-AMG versions.

As for the difference in the way they drive, the CL55 is much more of a (very) fast luxury car than a sports car. The difference between the way a CL feels and the way a C feels is astonishing. Even the C300 rentals I get when my CL is in the shop feel so much lighter and more nimble than my CL, so I'm sure the AMG suspension on the C63 is far more responsive.

I do a lot more long highway driving than track days, so I love the way the CL rides, but if you're looking for a sportier ride the C63 is your best bet.

I haven't mentioned the E-Class because I haven't driven one.
