It's very simple. They don't always list the year and when they do, they list is as the date of invoice rather than production.

My question is in reference to the engine number. The guy selling it claims the engine is made by cosworth. Anybody know what engine this car has?
The car has the 3.0L 24V M104. To my knowledge, Cosworth had nothing to do with that motor.

Dear flyboyike,
It would be great if you could help me as well. I tried my best to decode the vin myself (even with decoders), but no luck.

I have what I think is an 85 190E 1.8 right hand drive in Australia, but it was imported in 2000 probably from Asia (maybe China because there's Asian stickers on the car).

My VIN is WDB2010242F069293

Thank you soooo much. I hope you get a hit.

It appears, your car is not in the database. This is not uncommon for RHD cars. Contact your local dealer for a data card, they will pull one for you.

Your car is a little too new, it won't be in the database for another 12-18 months or so.

That does not look like any VIN# I have ever seen. I believe they are always alpha-numeric, and if you find the alpha- part try running it on this site: Mercedes-Benz Club Russia | Mercedes-Benz / VIN

Don't believe everything you think
