Thanks Eric! I appreciate the assistance and the information you have posted on the 722.9 transmission. I had a bad month with the transmission and fuel filter issues very close together on my 2006. On the plus side the stealer offered me $12,000.00 for the car as they wanted to tell me the car was mainted poorly - which i declined and will not return to them :-) I pointed out that the issues they view as poor maintenance appear to be happening to many other cars and its sad that for such an expensive car that they claim holds its value is valued so poorly by those that sell them.

Thanks again!

Eric, I want to buy a 2005 slk 350 vin #wdbwk56f55f049369. I tried to find the engine number on the internet to see if this car is in the oil consumption problem range. Any chance you could match the engine number to this vin?

Thanks
Dale

Just off the phone with Benz dealer who advised me the engine number for the car I'm interested in is. 272180. That number seems to fall within the problem area for oil consumption???
