I'm afraid this is one of those examples where different MB databases give different info. EPC gives the text as above but then again if you ask EPC for the explanation of code 599 for the 124 model, it does not know it.

I believe the correct description for 599 on a 124 is actually: HEAT-INSUL. GLASS, SIDE AND REAR WINDOW PANES, WINDSHIELD CLEAR

599 --- Heat insulation glass, BAND FILTER
599 --- INSULATION GLASS, WINDSHIELD LOST tinted side windows, rear window
599 AB 03/01/1989 INSULATION green glass for side windows and rear windows, rear window heatable laminated safety glass, WINDSHIELD GLASS CLEAR

VIN (Vehicle Identity Number) free decode

I can decode most VIN # and will post it here for you, if you do not wish people to see your full VIN # then pm me with it and I will do a decode but will not publish your VIN# with the decode. To find my contact info simply click on my avatar.

Pleas note I cannot do pdf and therefore cannot email a decode, I can only paste the decode on this forum.

Some vin decodes may show a few "unknown" codes, they may be found here;

All I can tell you is the vin # is wrong and will not work with epc, please recheck the vin # The 90 500sl should be in the prefix 129066 or 129067 or 129068 but you gave me 129006
