Exclamation Totally Clueless!!

My 2001 CLK 430 vibrates through sterring column when i reach aprx 55mph. Iv had new tires applied, and the wheels balanced and aligned a few times....although the shaking isnt as pronounced, i still feel it and dont know what to do next! The wheels are staggered and as such, i was told that they could not be rotated like regular tires. Ive had this car for years without any problems. This seems to just started out the blue and i want so desperately to nip it in the bud!! Please help

Think about Motor mounts, front and rear, and flex disc.

Did the shimmy start after you got the new tires? Sometimes even if the balancing is correct the tires could have a production flaw that gives a vibration. If it was recent, have the tire shop switch out spare wheels for the front, then the back to isolate what tire specifically it's coming from. You will probably only have to pay for a tire rotation fee at most if that's not your problem, but it's cheap and easiest thing to check first.
If you're problem started before you bought the new tires, of quite a while after you bought them, it probably isn't your tires.
