Hi peaps. Recently aquired an 03 316CDI 4x4 Ambulance to turn into a camper hoping for some serious travel. OK so I knew the 4x4 needed attention (switches on the dash not doing the things they supposed to)
so was prepared for some fixing work. Didn't expect it to be SO hard to find assistance (elect/vacuum/hydro diags etc.). Furthermore, did an all round break pad change, only to initiate a permanantly ON "ABS" light and engine gone "limp". That and what I've seen whilst surfing these forums is not boading well for a harsh run across the dark continent where most all fixes are expected to be achieved with a hammer and monkey wrench. Now having serious misgivings about taking my aquisition more than limping distance from Mr. Mecedes man let alone the AFIKA! Too "clever?" for its own good
Anybody out there to build my confidence?
Pity the LandCruiser dosen't come as a decent live-in sized version.
