Greetings from Florida's Nature Coast
I am new to this forum but not new to Mercedes, having had my first 280SL in Germany when i was in the military. Now, seven MB's later, I have one of the rare 91 W126 603.971 350SD's that has made nearly 200000miles with no oil consumption thanks to the advice of an excellent mechanic. I just picked up an 89 300CE which is giving me a bit of trouble, though. The coupe itself is in excellent condition, inside and out, just had the ECH reset along with a fuel filter, new plugs from Mercedes (the proper ones), new cap and rotor. It still started rough after all of that so I tried the OVP out of the SD and that was it. I ordered a new OVP for the CE and it ran great for a day and a night of multiple startups and shutdowns, heatups and cooldowns, both highway and city, couldn't have been happier with it. Then the next day I pulled over to help a fellow MB owner broken down on road side, shut off the car (it runs at a perfect 86C), then five minutes later it wouldn;t restart. I know there is a way to jump the points on the fuel pump relay connection socket but don't know which sockets to jump, anyone have any advice for me? Thanks for having me, look forward to much more intelligent information.
Also the ignition coil is fine.
