There are some confusions in the transmission maintenance on my 2004 CLK320. First the ATF was supposed to last life-time but then a MB service bulletin came out that said the ATF should be changed every 60K KM.
When I asked my SA, he said this applied to only later model of CLK, the one with 7-speed. Anyway, he reductantly changed the ATF for me. This was 2-3 years ago when my CLK was 130K KM. They did a partial change for me (filter changed, replaced the ATF in the pan, etc). I don't think this dealership has the proper equipment (BG) to do the full flush. If I want the full flush, I would have to go to an indy.
I have driven another 80K KM since and it's time to change again. Should I do the partial again? I read it something that the filter is the most important aspect of the change.
