Sirius Problem - Widespread?

I have a 2006 E 350 in which I had a Sirius XM radio installed several months ago. Its a factory unit, installed by a 3rd party. A couple of days ago it stopped working - saying I was "Not Subscribed" and none of the controls work at all. When I contacted Sirius and after getting a bit of a runaround, they said there was a widespread Sirius problem with Mercedes Benz and other cars, and they were working on a fix. But having searched here, I see no other mention of this issue, so I wondered if they are blowing me off? Is anyone else having a similar problem with a similar explanation from Sirius? Thanks, Bill.

I just bought a 2003 SL 500 that has a Sirius radio installed. I was told it was a lifetime subscription-the life of this particular radio unit. I love it however it 'skips'. I understand interruptions under overpasses and in parking garages but this happens very often on the open road. Any comments/suggestions?

Serious problems are usually widespread, which is why they're serious.

Thank you, I'm here all week, two shows a night, try the veal and don't forget to tip your waitress.
