Smile 1989 300E - Charging problem solved

Hi all
I am brand new to this site as a member but as a viewer it helped me solve my intermittent electical problem with my 89 300E (charging rate would drop leading to flat battery). So many mechanics told me squat and charged, Austalian rebuilt alternator was squat, bought a Beck Arnley from the States and the car is charging at 13.4 volts with fan, CD player, air conditioner and lights. 13.94 volts at the alternator. I have only owned a Merc for 3 months and this site taught me so much about my car and I want to thank you all for caring enough to post your answers. Sure made my job easier - information is all.
Many thanks

OK, I've learnt forum posting stuff since my first post. My 1989 300E is now running perfect with a Beck Arnley alternator and so what the ABS light comes on intermittently and it only starts on the 2nd go (problems I've read on this site and I share) but I have also read the teachings of an Eastern Eurpean taxi driver who recommends driving a 330E until you walk - and probably he won't be walking in his lifetime. I hope that this car lives up to its bullet proof status.
Happy to hear from other 300E or CE owners.
