Headlamp wires bare
03 E320, low beam H7 bulb pass side burned out (?), removed rubber cover, access limited but not too bad, peered in with mirror, removed socket and noticed that the insulation appears to be crystallized from the trapped heat inside the assembly, and with the slightest movement falls off, leaving both wires bare. Anyone else had this prob? I have plenty of wire in the same guage, and a selection of terminals. My biggest problem is removing the headlight assembly itself in order to replace the wiring. Do I need to remove the front bumper cover? I have the center loose, can't get to the fender screws.
