My $%%%*&^$ Switch

I am Having trouble turning my ignition switch on my 2003 SLK320. After an afternoon of blood sweat and tears I find out this is a typical problem with MB. Now if i make sure I park with my front wheel straight ahead it will work. The steering wheel locking screw is sticking. I would like to find out if there are any other querks that I am going to find out? Please let me know before my wife and I find them out on the road. This is my first MB and am use to driving Jaguars.. Think I will love the MB when I find all the little things that "OLD HANDS HAVE ALREADY FOUND"? Thanks in advance for any tips! ,,,

This has never been a problem for me but I always park with the front wheels as straight as possible, and do so with my other cars too. If this is a quirk with a 2003 SLK320 you would be better served by asking on the proper forum (scroll down from here and look for the roadster section and then for your model year).

Ditto that this is not typical for MB.
None of mine 9 MB in 4 body styles had the problem. Didn't own SLK
Each of the model has its gremlins as German engineers are human, but those gremlins that scare owners not knowing how to deal with them -create situation when I can buy used MB very cheap and usually sell them for more than I paid.
Start reading your model section and you might actually enjoy it.
