1976 280 gas - assessment

I'm considering a 1976 280, gas. price is in the $2500.00 range, car definitely is in very very good condition. I'm going to go install a new battery and start it after sitting for a year.. hopefully test drive it. Last owner says that recollection of driving experience is that the brakes were getting mush towards the end.. shifting was 'sticky' in that he would have to let off the gas a little to get her to shift, in all gears, and when cold it would idle low/rough until warm.

Thoughts on these preliminary inputs?

Have any pictures?

Brakes shouldn't be a huge deal, and the harsh shifts may just need a new fluid/(filter?) change.

Also, try looking in the vintage forum. People in the vintage forum may be able to help you better.
