Clean Engine

I have a 2010 E350 and want to clean under the hood. Anyone have a recommendation on cleaning the dust/dirt off the engine compartment w/out damaging the engine or electrical wiring/parts under the hood?

You will find endless topics about engine washing. I've been using plain water under good pressure for 40 years.

I just use a regular hose and sponge.

You can spray tire dressing or the like on the engine to get it to really shine.
