Question engine start delay

I own a 2008 S 450 4 matic. I have a starting problem. When I push the start button the engine does not start right away but rather there is noise ( like a CHUCK) and then 3 or 4 seconds later it starts. It does it 3 or 4 times a day. The car is still under warranty but I would like to know before taking it to the dealership.
Thanks

At the bottom of the page you will find forum jump, click on this and view all the available sub forums and there you will find the technical forum for your car.

For FAQ see the Benzworld help section here:
BenzWorld Help - Benzworld.org - Mercedes-Benz Discussion Forum
Benzworld help is for general enquires and all technical questions should be posted on the specific forum for your car. If you are not sure which forum it should be on then please ask me and I will give you a link.

I would hazard a guess and say the starter motor has a problem, but it is kind of unusual on these cars for the starter to go wrong.

Regards

ERIC.
