Question GLK350 and speed bumps

I recently purchased my first Mercedes, a 2011 GLK 2 wheel drive and while I love the car, I am not too thrilled with how it feels when I go over speed bumps or bumps on the road. I feel like I "feel" them a lot! Is this normal?
I apologize if I sound a bit ignorant, I'm a girl and do not know much about cars. I just feel that given it's a Benz, it should be a little smoother than it is?

Now the speed bumps area becoming a real major concern. I just moved into a new apartment complex and it has speed bumps everywhere! I have to slow down to a crawl to go over them because even going like 10 creates this huge commotion and when the back tires go over it even makes a bit of a clunking noise. I don't know if this is the car's problem or these speed bumps are way too big or just poorly constructed
I dread going over them cause I feel like I'm mistreating the poor little car. Anyway, maybe I'm just being overly sensitive since it's my first Benz and the car I had before was a Jeep Liberty which was taller and seemed maybe a little rougher.
I appreciate any input! Thank you!

Hi, firstly there is a GLK specific forum here, if you use the pull down menu at the bottom of each page you will see it under the SUV section. The fellow owners of your car can likely help you a bit better than general forum.

I did drive a GLK350 for a week as my loaner and I did not notice any especially hard bumps over speed bumps, but I will say that it is likely a combination of the specific bumps in your parking lot coupled with the fact that the suspension on the GLK is intended to be more "car like" which would mean it's a bit harsher riding for stability, and not as floaty as the Jeep is. Also, the tires are likely lower profile than on the Jeep as well, smaller sidewall equals harsher ride.

I hope this helps, but in general if he vehicle is making sounds going over speed bumps, your only option to care for the truck is to drive more slowly over them.
