'94 E420 pristine but wrecked 63,788 mi ORLANDO
I bought this car as a 2nd owner in '98 with a mere 15k miles on it in showroom condition. At 63,788 miles, someone ran a red light turning left into my left front end. It didn't even deploy the air bags or deflate the tires. Still though, the insurance company "totaled" the car based on what their adjuster told them. I bought it back from them under the belief that a mechanic friend and I would part it out, but personal problems caused him to bail. I have an estimate of $500 to accurately align the frame. In the meantime, I am hoping for offers over $650 for this silver beauty w/ grey interior that always garnered compliments, especially from those in the know. I believe in this platform so strongly I bought another before finding out mine wasn't as bad as I was told. I scoured the country to find an equivalent replacement -- couldn't! Settled for a '95 with 107k miles. Below are a couple of pics on the same day as the accident. I plan to make more available soon that show the beautiful almost showroom interior. The car currently resides safely in Apopka (just E. of Orlando) on private property and can be driven, but the power steering is damaged. It is also covered and protected from the elements.
Replaced ignition wires at 53,262 miles -- cost 488.44
Replace engine wire harness at 53,841 miles -- cost 1,236.72 Note: MB actually had a recall on this when they switched to Delco as a vendor, but my car was too old to be covered.
Replaced throttle body at 54,473 miles -- probably could have repaired the old one, but after research, elected to get a new one installed cost $1,041.74
Replaced crankshaft sensor at 56, 6771 plus a/c service at 56,771 miles -- cost $446
Replaced radiator at 62,225 miles -- cost 704
