Question hello ya'll

Hello,.....and HELP!!! please


hi, my uncle gave my sis a 1997 420 Sport. the battery was dead, So i removed it n charged it.after i replaced it, I opened the drivers door & all
hell broke loose, The alarm started to go off and i don't know how to disarm it. so i disconected the battery again.....
Now I'm a bit Daimbranaged from a prvious accident, I would be very pleasd
if someone could help me......

Hello Danno and welcome to the forum. Your sister has what MB calls a W210 so look for that sub-forum under the sedans heading. We are a friendly group and there are several experts (not me!) answering questions there.

I don't know what type of remote key fob you have but on mine I can turn off the alarm by depressing the panic button. It sounds like your security system was armed and you opened the door without disarming it. It's probably as simple as that. Good luck my friend.

If you have the owners manual, it should tell you how to disarm the alarm. Many mercedes alarms will shut off if you start the vehicle with the master key. I cannot be sure with your specific model but that has worked on the ones I have owned.

Post hello and thanxz....

1st. off there were no batterys in her key fob, and the laser key will not start the auto. opens trunk just fine....
So do i get a new key cut?, or does it need a new ignition switch??
