Post heater gives of smell

hi
i am new to the forum and just joined. i have a mercedes c270 avantgarde, when i turn on the heaters it gives off a bad smell like a gassy or deisel smell which gives me a headache. what and why is this and what should i do?

Hi, this section is for introducing yourself, it'd be better to post that question in the c270 section. However it sounds like a Cabin Filter.
